Review: Kodiak Cakes Oatmeal Cookies

Cookies are one of my major weaknesses, but they’re basically just baked sugar and flour. What if there was a cookie that actually had… dare I say it… substance to it?!? Enter, Kodiak Cakes. Namely, their frontier chocolate chip oatmeal cookies. Now, they’re still made with an entire stick of butter, but they also have 100% whole grains, to help to keep you fuller longer.

I’ve wanted to try Kodiak Cakes’ products for awhile now, and I decided that these cookies would be a good place to start. All you need to make them is a stick of softened butter and an egg. They took about 5 minutes to whip up and portion out. If you wanted to be super accurate with your serving size, I would suggest using a kitchen scale because the serving size is in grams. Being the broke and lazy college student I am, I just guessed. The box says they’ll make about 18 cookies, so I made 18 balls that were roughly the same size. Since the cookies clock in at 160 calories per cookie, and knowing my self-control when it comes to cookies, I decided to bake 2 for myself tonight and stick the other dough balls into a tupperware container and popped that baby in the freezer. (Ngl, I’ll probably eat at least one of the raw dough balls at some point this week) After my two cookies were baked, I took them out of the oven and they looked and smelled delicious.

And I can confirm, they tasted even more delicious than they looked and smelled. These cookies are BOMB AF, I can’t believe I’ve lived this much of my life without these because I can’t picture my life without them anymore. Everything about them is just… so good. Next time I make them, I think I’m gonna throw a little sea salt on the top because I love saltiness with my sweetness!
